The Hook Norton Community Led Housing Project originated as an endeavor initiated by Hook Norton Low Carbon (HNLC), a Community Benefit Society established in 2009. In 2010, HNLC secured grant funding through the Low Carbon Communities Challenge, aimed at promoting community investment in renewable energy solutions. The significance of community engagement became evident when HNLC sought input from the local residents on how to allocate these funds. The overwhelming consensus was a strong desire to assume control of their housing options and create sustainable, affordable homes for the future.
